Outreach

Social & outreach

Share your animals, celebrate adoptions, and grow your supporter base -- all from one hub. The Outreach hub covers social post drafts, email broadcasts, printable flyers, success stories, and public updates.

AdminCoordinator

Go to Outreach in the left nav. Five tabs: Social posts, Broadcasts, Flyers, Success Stories, and Updates. Connecting your social accounts happens separately, on the Settings page.

Social posts tab -- draft and copy

Social posts is an AI draft generator for six channels: Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, X/Twitter, email to partners, and Craigslist. There's no platform-connection requirement and no scheduling -- you copy the drafted text and paste it wherever you're posting. The email channel is the exception: you can send it straight to your partner list from right here.

Creating a post with AI:

  1. 1
    Click Draft a post.
  2. 2
Tell the AI what to write about -- an adoptable animal, a fundraiser, a volunteer need, a lost pet alert, or anything else.
  3. 3
Click Draft. The AI writes a post in your rescue's voice and suggests relevant hashtags, tailored to the channel you pick.
  4. 4
    Edit the draft as needed.
  5. 5
Copy the text and paste it into Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, X/Twitter, or Craigslist yourself -- or, for the email channel, click Send to deliver it straight to your partners.
To teach the AI your rescue's voice and preferences, use the Teach the copilot feature (available on any AI-generated post). Say things like "We always end with a call to action" or "We prefer 'fur family' over 'pet owners'."

Updates tab -- publish and share

Updates is where you actually publish. Write a blog-style Update and post it to your public microsite page, with the option to immediately share it to your connected Facebook Page, Instagram, Bluesky, or webhook-connected accounts (Zapier / Make) -- all from one screen. There's no scheduling here either; an Update goes out as soon as you publish it.

Connecting social accounts:

Go to Settings > Social posting to connect your Facebook Page, Bluesky account, or a custom webhook. Instagram connects automatically alongside a linked Facebook Page. Connected accounts appear as one-tap sharing targets when you publish an Update.

Flyers tab

Generate printable adoption flyers for specific animals. Flyers include the animal's photo, name, breed, age, and your rescue's contact info.

  1. 1
Click New flyer and search for an animal.
  2. 2
Choose a flyer template. The animal's primary photo and details are pre-filled.
  3. 3
Add a custom tagline or description if needed.
  4. 4
Click Generate. Your flyer is exported as a PNG or PDF to download and print.
Don't want to print? The flyer editor also has a Share to connected accounts option, so you can send a flyer straight to your connected Facebook Page, Instagram, Bluesky, or webhook without downloading it first.

Success Stories tab

Document and share adoption success stories. Success stories are prompted automatically when you close an adoption, and adopters can submit a photo and update.

Adding a story manually:

  1. 1
Click Add story and search for the animal.
  2. 2
Upload a photo (before/after or current family photo).
  3. 3
Write a short story or paste one the adopter sent you.
  4. 4
Toggle Publish to gallery to show it on your public microsite's success stories section.
Which social platforms does Fosterling support?
For direct publishing from the Updates tab: Facebook Pages and Instagram (both via the Facebook connection — no third-party service) and Bluesky (free, app-password based). For X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms, connect a Zapier or Make webhook — Zapier's free tier covers around 100 posts/month. The Social posts tab drafts copy-paste text for Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, X/Twitter, Craigslist, and email regardless of what you have connected.
Can I schedule posts in advance?
Not for social posts or Updates -- both go out immediately when you copy/paste or share them. Email Broadcasts are the exception: in the Broadcasts tab, you can schedule a send for a future date and time.
Can I add multiple photos to a social post?
No -- each social post or Update supports a single image.
Can success stories appear on my website?
Success stories can be published to your Fosterling microsite. If you have a separate website, you can embed the microsite success stories section via iFrame, or link to the microsite page.
