Opening the calendar

Click Calendar in the left nav. Switch between month, week, and agenda views using the buttons in the top-right. A Legend dropdown in the header shows the color key for each event type -- it doesn’t filter the calendar.

Adding an event

   Click New event or click directly on a day/time slot in the calendar.

   Pick a category. Vet appointment opens a short form right here: pick the animal (adopted animals included), then the date, time and reason. Volunteer shift, Adoption event, Meet & greet, Vaccination, Transport, Surrender intake, and Reminder take you straight to that record type’s own creation page, so the event is tied to the right record from the start. Custom event also opens a form on the calendar.

   For a custom event, fill in the title, all-day toggle, start and end time, location, and description, then click Save. Custom events don’t link to an animal record.

Getting your calendar into another app

Fosterling doesn’t do a two-way sync with your personal calendar app. Instead, it gives you a private, read-only feed you subscribe to -- it stays up to date on its own and includes your shifts, vet appointments, foster check-ins, and vaccine due dates. Admins, coordinators, and vets see vaccine due dates for every animal in the org; everyone else sees them only for animals they’re fostering.

   Go to Settings > Connected services and find My calendar feed, then copy your private link.

   Paste the link into Google Calendar (Other calendars > From URL), Apple Calendar (File > New Calendar Subscription), or Outlook (Add calendar > Subscribe from web).

   Your Fosterling schedule now shows up alongside your personal events and refreshes automatically as things change.

Viewing an animal’s appointments

From any animal’s record, the Medical tab lists its vet visits, upcoming and past. Schedule vet visit there fills in the animal for you, and works for adopted animals too.

Can volunteers see the calendar?

Yes -- volunteers see shifts they're scheduled for. They don't see the full calendar with every rescue event.

Can I export calendar events to a CSV?

Not directly from the calendar, but Operations Reports > Data Exports has CSV and Excel exports for volunteer hours and event attendance. For a full calendar-event export, contact support.

What happens to an event if the linked animal is adopted?

The event stays on the calendar as-is -- it isn't automatically updated or removed when the animal's status changes.
