Settings & team
Org settings
Configure your organization's public profile, forms, and general preferences. Most settings here affect your entire org -- including what adopters and donors see.
Go to Settings in the left nav. It's organized into four groups: Organization (org profile, branding & microsite, feature toggles, partners), People & billing (team, subscription, donations & fees, activity history, import/export), Intake & programs (forms, adoption agreement, foster portal, lost & found data sources), and Connected services & messaging (integrations, partner rescues, email automations, notifications, messaging). Your own account settings -- profile and accessibility -- live in a separate You section at the bottom.
Organization
Your org's core identity -- used across your public page, receipts, and outgoing emails.
- Name
- Your rescue or shelter's full name. Appears on receipts, your public page, and system emails.
- Public location
- Shown on your public adoption page, e.g. 'Portland, OR'.
- Public contact email / phone
- Adopters see these on your animals' pages.
- Address
- Used for lost & found geo-matching and service-radius calculations. Set via search or your current location.
- Timezone
- Used for scheduled emails and reminders.
- Weight / distance units
- How weights and distances are shown across the app -- pounds or kilograms, miles or kilometers.
- Species focus
- What kinds of animals you take in.
Branding & microsite
Your public-facing look -- logo, colors, mission, and the URL your applications and donation links share.
- Public page URL
- Your slug -- fosterling.io/r/your-slug. Powers your microsite, donation page, and application links. Editable any time (update any shared links after changing it).
- Logo & accent color
- Shown on your public page header.
- Mission
- A short paragraph about your org, shown on your public page.
- Hero banner
- An image and layout style for the top of your page. Requires the Rescue plan or higher.
- Website / Facebook / Instagram
- Linked from your public page.
- Publish toggle
- Turn your public page on or off. Off keeps your data private to your team.
Features & menu
Choose which sidebar sections your team sees. Core sections like Dashboard and Settings always show; the rest bundle by theme so you only see what you use:
- Lost & Found
- Lost-pet reports and pending found-pet reports.
- Operations
- Volunteers, transport, donations, and compliance reports.
- Programs
- TNR colonies, neonate care, and cruelty/hoarding cases -- one toggle covers all three.
- Rescue Network
- Cross-rescue matches, relay chains, capacity sharing, and reputation.
- Outreach
- Outreach posts, newsletters, and your public adopt page.
Donation receipts
There's no separate receipt-template editor -- receipts are generated automatically when a donation is made. To get IRS-compliant receipts, add your EIN under Settings > Donations & fees (shown on receipts if your org is tax-deductible).
- Can I change my org's public page URL?
- Yes -- go to Settings → Branding & microsite and edit the slug. It powers your public page (fosterling.io/r/your-slug), donation page, and application links, so update any shared links after changing it.
- Where do I set up the foster portal welcome message and check-in settings?
- Those are in Settings → Foster portal. See the Foster portal docs for the full list of options.
- Can coordinators edit org settings?
- No -- Settings is admin-only. Coordinators can see the settings page but cannot save changes.
- How do I change my org's time zone?
- Go to Settings → Organization and update the Timezone field. This affects how dates and times display throughout the app and in exports.
