Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Fosterling uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) when you use the platform. Read it alongside our Privacy Notice.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. We also use browser local and session storage, which work similarly. We refer to all of these as “cookies” here.

How we use them

Fosterling uses necessary cookies, preferences and advertising measurement. We do not sell your data.

• Strictly necessary - keeping you signed in, maintaining your session and selected organization, and protecting against cross-site request forgery. These are set by Fosterling and by our authentication provider (Supabase). The service cannot work without them.
• Preferences - remembering low-risk choices such as your theme and whether you have dismissed certain prompts. These are stored locally in your browser.
• Advertising - Meta Pixel uses _fbp and _fbc identifiers to measure page visits and new rescue registrations and optimize signup advertising. We also send permitted registration events through Meta's Conversions API. Browser information and IP address may be included; email matching and rescue records are not sent. Advertising choices are stored separately from analytics preferences.

Third parties

A small number of infrastructure providers may set strictly necessary cookies on our behalf - notably Supabase (authentication and database) and our hosting and content-delivery provider. Meta receives permitted advertising events for measurement and optimization.

Managing cookies

Open Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to allow or reject advertising. Rejection is as easy as acceptance. The banner appears in consent-required or unknown regions; advertising is blocked there until acceptance. Elsewhere ordinary advertising measurement is enabled unless you reject it or use Global Privacy Control. Your choice applies immediately, including other open tabs. We keep the notice version, visitor identifier, region and timestamp as evidence, preserving earlier acceptance when you withdraw. Previously blocked events are not replayed after acceptance.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because Fosterling relies on strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, blocking them will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes are reflected in the “last updated” date above.
