This policy explains how Fosterling uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) when you use the platform. Read it alongside our Privacy Notice.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. We also use browser local and session storage, which work similarly. We refer to all of these as “cookies” here.

How we use them

Fosterling is a tool for animal-welfare organizations, not an ad-supported product. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data. We use cookies in two categories only:

• Strictly necessary — keeping you signed in, maintaining your session and selected organization, and protecting against cross-site request forgery. These are set by Fosterling and by our authentication provider (Supabase). The service cannot work without them.
• Preferences — remembering low-risk choices such as your theme and whether you have dismissed certain prompts. These are stored locally in your browser.

Third parties

A small number of infrastructure providers may set strictly necessary cookies on our behalf — notably Supabase (authentication and database) and our hosting and content-delivery provider. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers that profile you across the web.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because Fosterling relies on strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, blocking them will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes are reflected in the “last updated” date above.
